NEW WINE RELEASE!
Cedar Creek Estate has just re-released Revelation Red and Splash of Pink. Our two most popular wines are back.
The new Vintage of Rev Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat Hamburg.
As in previous years it is again unwooded and bottled in the year of harvest. It has an appearance of cherry red colors with sweet rose and red fruit aromas. The palate has defining tannins with a sweet texture and is medium bodied. We love to serve this chilled.
A Splash of Pink is also back in Cellar Door. Made with 100% Black Muscat Hamburg, that were soaked on their skins at very low temperatures and the ferment was arrested to retain its fruitiness and a little carbon dioxide (for bubbles). It presents pale pink colours and has aromas of sweet vibrant honied fruits. Enjoy this with a cold fruit platter. Serve icy cold, best at 3 -5°.
We are also about to release our first sparkling wine. This will be available for sale in the next 4-6 weeks. Why not come up the mountain and try the wines. As always there is a 10% discount on all wine sales, be it as a straight or a mixed dozen.
SPRING TIME MEANS BABIES!
Spring is almost upon us, this brings and breathes new life in nature particularly our cave and rainforest. The Glow Worm Cave is set for a population explosion with thousands of new baby Glow Worms ready to shed their extraordinary light show on our cave. Wildlife is on the increase in our rainforest, reptiles are coming out of hibernation with the warm weather also we are seeing an increase of bird activity.
We now also have special tours for school groups, with a healthy packed lunch and educational quiz provided. We call it conservation by education.

WINE TALK
In this section of our newsletter we begin on wine varieties. We will continue in each newsletter with one white and one red variety in an effort to help you understand what is available from quality wine makers in Queensland. This time we will take a look at Pinot Gris and Tempranillo.
Pinot Gris is quickly becoming the next big trend for white wine drinkers worldwide. It is particularly well suited to our Queensland summers so naturally quite a few of our producers are making this light aromatic wine. Look for nice acid balanced by fresh peach and green apple or maybe some citrus sorbet, Pinot Gris should be light and quick and refreshing and is best matched with fresh QLD seafood. The Queensland Wine Centre stocks Robert Channon Wines Pinot Gris, Sirromet Pinot Gris and Symphony Hill Pinot Gris.
Tempranillo is a traditional Spanish variety quickly gaining popularity in Queensland. As with most Mediterranean varieties Tempranillo grows exceptionally well in our state and our winemakers produce many and varied styles of wine from the quality fruit grown here. You’ll find characters ranging from strawberries and dark cherries through to smoked tomatoes and leather and weights varying from mid-weight seriousness to light styles best served chilled. Serve with a good plate of paella or chilled around the barbeque. The Queensland Wine Centre stocks Golden Grove Tempranillo, Hidden Creek Tempranillo, Moonrise Tempranillo and Symphony Hill Tempranillo.
